Length

Staff mobility is usually for 7 days (5 days’ stay + 2 says of travel there and back)

Types and Requirements

Staff Mobility for Teaching requires 8 hours of teaching, which are subject to interpretation by the hosting institute (can be lectures to students, to faculty, in small groups, for differing lengths – according to preferences and instructions).

Staff Mobility for Training focuses on broadening relationships between the hosting institution and our institution, via staff meetings that aim to promote mutual projects, international courses, research and development.

Funding

Flight and accommodation are paid for, but limited to about 350 € flight cost and 100-140 € per day, according to the destination in Europe. Funding is conducted directly between the participants and the European hosting institution, either in advance (to the personal bank account) or when arriving at the destination. Booking of flights an accommodation is done by participating staff members according to their preferences. The hosting institution (usually their international office) and/or our international office are happy to help.

Criteria for Mobility

There are several factors involved in choosing staff for mobility, for example:

  • Area of teaching and research matches the hosting mobility’s interests;
  • Prior connections with the hosting institute and staff;
  • Potential benefit for LWAC and for the matching institution – willingness of the staff member to promote research and development, teaching and academic and pedagogical initiatives with the hosting institution;
  • Very good English skills (oral, reading, writing).

We encourage staff members who do not have international connections, and also young beginning scholars to apply as well.

Who decides?

A committee composed of the relevant dean(s) and the vice-president. The international office may recommend, but do not decide on this issue.

Proposal stage

  1. A call for participation is published, inviting faculty to fill an online form. For questions or clarifications – contact Mrs. Danya Kafarin, administrative coordinator of the international office, at [email protected] or at +972-3-6901535.
  2. An ad-hoc committee chooses the most suitable staff member(s) for each mobility.

Preparatory stage

  1. An email is sent to the chosen staff member(s).
  2. Dates and program are finalized in cooperation with the staff member, by the hosting institution.
  3. The staff member fills a mobility form with the support of the head of the international study program in the relevant campus. This includes all planned activities, goals, future intentions etc. The form is sent by the international office to the hosting institution.
  4. The staff member submits a form of absence from teaching, as required also for attending conferences abroad.
  5. If the funding is sent in advance to a bank account, the staff member will fill in a bank form.

Mobility stage

  1. Faculty is encouraged to document the visit: photos, videos, summaries – and send them to the head of international study program in their campus for publication in digital platforms.

Post-mobility stage

  1. Faculty is required to fill a short online form for the Erasmus+ European Union office.
  2. Faculty is encouraged to share their experiences within the institution, for example, give a presentation in department meetings.

Staff members are encouraged to elevate their existing international connections, especially in Europe, by proposing mobility agreements. Feel free to consult with either Prof. Yael Netz (Wingate Campus) at [email protected]
