The International Exchange Program @LWAC
The unique exchange program at the Levinsky-Wingate Academic College (LWAC) is conducted under the Erasmus+ Mobility Program.
The main campus at LWAC is located in Tel Aviv, one of the most vibrant cities in the world, located on Israel’s Mediterranean coast. It is characterized by a mixture of old and new: on one hand ruins and archeological findings from as early as the 12th century BC, and on the other hand – the center of innovation, culture and creativity. It respects tradition and history, and also welcomes innovation, pluralism and diversity. Its beautiful beaches, diverse cultural scenery, excellent cuisine, and vibrant nightlife is suitable for all ages.
Our Wingate campus is located south of Netanya, along the Mediterranean coast as well, about 20 KM north of our Tel Aviv campus. Netanya’s beautiful beaches have made the city a popular tourist destination. It is surrounded by reserves, which include rare seasonal flowers and animals, such as turtles and water birds.
Our Eilat campus is located in the southern part of Israel, and is known as the most popular tourist destination in the country, being on the Red Sea. Its beaches are unique, allowing snorkeling and diving. The population of the city is extremely diverse.
The Levinsky campus is an accredited institution of higher education that provides students with both academic and professional training for future employment as teachers in preschool education, special education, elementary and secondary education in several disciplines, as well as in the field of music education and music therapy. The campus hosts prestigious programs for teaching as a second career, in which participants receive a teaching certificate.
The Wingate campus is an accredited institution of higher education that provides students with both academic and professional training for future employment in the fields of movement, training, rehabilitation, and sports, and as physical-education teachers.
The Eilat campus includes selected programs that ate taught in both Levinsky and Wingate campuses, according to the needs of the city and its surrounding. These may include academic as well as certificate qualifications and accreditation.
Faculty and students will be assisted in finding accommodation in all campuses, according to availability of rooms, either in hostels or in apartments; for the Wingate campus, rooms in Netanya Academic College may be available.
Note that expenses for accommodation and living is relatively high in Tel Aviv, and lower in Netanya; as for the Eilat campus, accommodation may be cheaper in apartments.
Food and Living Expenses
There are cafeterias in both Levinsky and Wingate campuses.
You should plan to spend about US$ 800–900 per month for food, travel, and other additional expenses. During your first month on campus, you may incur additional expenses, e.g., items for your studies and for your residence.
Computer Rooms
Computer rooms can be found in the main college buildings of all three campuses. An assistant is onsite to help students during college hours.
Gym
A large modern gym is available to students, free of charge, at the Wingate campus. The gym offers a range of aerobic machines (treadmills, bicycles, and elliptical machines) and weights. The facility is located in the main college building.
At the Levinsky Campus you may also use a range of aerobic machines (treadmills, bicycles, and elliptical machines) in the yard.
Music Rooms
The Levinsky campus offers a wide range of music rooms with musical instruments (including pianos), and a whiteboard suitable for writing musical notes. They are located on the fourth floor of the main building in Tel Aviv.
Laboratories
A wide range of research as well as teaching laboratories are available for students and faculty, including STEM, sports and physical education.
The Accelerator
In the main campus – the Levinsky campus – you can find the Authority for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching, our Accelerator. There, you can experience top-notch developments focused on innovative teaching and learning in the digital era. Staff there may assist you in your assignments, but also introduce novelties in technology that can support your studies, such as AI interfaces, 3D devices with VR experiences.
