Associate Professor Ayelet Dunsky is a researcher in biomechanics and kinesiology, specializing in the biomechanical and cognitive aspects of physical activity, particularly among older adults. Her research focuses on the relationships among physical activity, balance, postural control, cognitive function, and quality of life, as well as on the development and evaluation of intervention programs to improve function and prevent falls in aging populations.
Prof. Dunsky serves as the Head of the School of Sport Sciences and Human Movement and Head of the Physical Activity for Older Adults track at the Levinsky-Wingate Academic College. She is also an active member of key academic committees, including the Supreme Academic Committee and the Ethics Committee, and leads institutional initiatives such as the Academy 360 project.
Her research integrates biomechanics, neuroscience, and aging, examining the effects of various physical activity types, such as aerobic, resistance, balance, and coordination training, on both physical and cognitive outcomes. Her work has been published in leading international peer-reviewed journals and has received competitive research funding and academic recognition.
Prof. Dunsky is actively involved in international collaborations and serves as a reviewer for high-impact scientific journals in gerontology, sports science, public health, and rehabilitation.
In addition to her research, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in biomechanics, kinesiology, and movement analysis, and supervises graduate students conducting research in physical activity, health, and aging.
