The Center for Biomechanics and Movement Rehabilitation

About the Center for Biomechanics and Movement Rehabilitation

Biomechanics: The science that studies human movement – measuring and evaluating the forces acting between a person and their environment; analyzing and understanding the movement that occurs as a result of these interactions.

The Center for Biomechanics and Movement Rehabilitation has been operating for over 20 years within the Biomechanics Laboratory of the Levinsky-Wingate Academic Center (Wingate Campus). The Center provides biomechanical diagnostic, consultation, and treatment services to athletic populations and populations with orthopedic or neurological injuries. Biomechanical information serves professionals working with these populations: orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, fitness trainers, and sports coaches.

Key topics in the center's activities

  1. Biomechanical analysis of motor skills from the world of sports and everyday life
  2. Tests to assess biomechanical variables in motor function
  3. Biomechanical aspects of physical fitness and biomechanical function under fatigue conditions
  4. Assessment of muscle function; rehabilitation and strengthening of muscle function as needed.
